Travel and location information

Location

The conference will be held in "LZA Zinatnes Nams" conference center, Vikingu, 3, Jurmala, Latvia. Jurmala is a resort town near Riga on the shore of Baltic Sea. 

The conference center is located 20 km from the centre of Riga, 15 km from the central airport, as well as 100 m from the railway station Lielupe and 800 m from the sandy beach.

How to get there

You can take a train from the central train station of Riga to Jurmala, the destination station Lielupe. The train takes about 1/2 hour. Trains leave roughly every half hour in the summer, from platforms N°3 and 4, from 05:28 to 23:05.

You can get to the central train station from the airport of Riga by taking Bus N° 22 that stops directly in front of the airport or you can go directly to the Conference center from airoport by taking a taxi.

Hotels

A modest "bead and breakfast" accomodation will be available in "LZA Zinatnes Nams"  hotel, the same place as conference center - Vikingu, 3, Jurmala, Latvia.

Visas

Please refer to http://www.mfa.gov.lv/eframe.htm - Consular Information -Entry visas of the Republic of Latvia for the most complete and up to date information of documents you need to visit Latvia.

If you find your country in the list of Countries whose citizens may entry Latvia without a visa, then you can don't worry about visa. If you find your country in the list of  Countries whose citizens are eligible to receive Latvian visa without an invitation then you will be able to obtain an entry visa of the Republic of Latvia valid up to 10 days while crossing the border control point of the Republic of Latvia in the international airport "Riga" and without an invitation.
