Rusins FREIVALDS

  • born in Latvia in 1942;
  • graduated from the University of Latvia in 1965;
  • received PhD(1971) from the Institute of Mathematics, Novosibirsk, and DSc(1976) from Moscow University;
  • since 1992 Dr.habil.math. Member of the Academy of Sciences of Latvia(1992);
  • member of the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science(1979);
  • since 1970 he has been working at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science
  • He has given invited talks on his research in complexity of computation and inductive inference at conferences in USA, Japan, etc., served in program committees of international conferences.
  • Computer education is another interest of his, it has resulted in educational TV shows, books, including one published in a million copies. 162 published papers and 3 books.
