Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science University of Latvia

The Institute has long standing traditions in supporting education process at the University of Latvia. It has been traditionally established since the foundation of the Institute that leading researchers deliver lectures, hold seminars and supervise graduation theses at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics.

Currently the Institute houses the Graduate (Master) Studies in Computer Science at the University of Latvia (more than 250 Master's Degree students on the program). Prof. J.Barzdins is Director of the Master degree program, and Prof. R.Freivalds is Director of the Doctor degree program.

For all these years the Institute has played the role of an incubator for rearing of leading specialists in Computer Science and Mathematics in Latvia, now they are University professors and top managers in software companies.
