Latvia’s team in IOI 2012
From 23 to 30 September 2012, Latvia’s team participated in the 24th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2012), where two bronze medals were obtained.
This year the Olympiad took place in Montichiari and Sirmione, Italy. All-in-all there were 310 participants, Latvia’s team consisted of four pupils: both medallists - Ojārs Vilmārs Ratnieks from Sigulda State Gymnasium and Aleksejs Popovs from Riga Secondary School No.10, as well as Nikita Larka (Riga Secondary School No.88) and Marks Zeļdes (Daugavpils Russian Secondary School – Lyceum).
The team in IOI 2012 was led by IMCS UL’s researchers Rihards Opmanis and Mārtiņš Opmanis, who was elected in The International Committee of International Olympiad in Informatics for a period of three years.
