During April 8-12 in Rostock, Germany, the 19th Baltic Olympiad in Informatics was held. There were 54 participants altogether representing nine Baltic countries: Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Finland, Germany and Sweden.
Latvia's participation was coordinated by IMCS UL, and the team was led by IMCS UL's researchers Mārtiņš and Rihards Opmanis. This year Latvia was represented by 6 participants, each one of whom earned an award.
Aleksejs Zajakins earned a gold medal (finishing in the 4th place altogether, with 500 points out of 600). Silver medals went to Nikita Larka and Ojārs Vilmārs Ratnieks. Bronze medals went to Aleksejs Popovs, Mihails Smoļins and Pēteris Pakalns. During the olympiad, 6 gold, 7 silver and 14 bronze medals were awarded.
